The challenge
This particular client’s existing concrete floors had taken some damage over the years, especially near the front of the garage where the doors close.
The existing garage floor was assessed and prepared to ensure the concrete substrate was suitable for the resin system. Particular attention was given to creating the correct surface profile to allow the resin coatings to bond effectively.
The solution
The garage floor was mechanically prepared using diamond grinding equipment to remove surface contaminants and laitance while opening up the concrete substrate.
This process provides the necessary mechanical key for the resin system and helps ensure a strong bond between the existing concrete and the new flooring.
Following preparation, the floor was thoroughly cleaned and prepared for the resin installation.
Glacier Blend Decorative Flake
Once the preparation was complete, ResGen installed our Glacier Blend Decorative Flake System.
The resin base coat was applied before the decorative flakes were spread across the surface to achieve the chosen finish. Once cured, the floor was prepared for the protective topcoat, encapsulating the flakes and creating a seamless, durable surface.
The Glacier Blend provides a contemporary, neutral appearance that works particularly well within garage environments, giving the floor a clean and professional finish.
